  • Formed financial consulting firm to provide advisory services to firms struggling

      with overleveraged operations and real estate assets

  • Serving as financial consultant to a chain of hotels (2,100 keys) with $200 million in

      assets in the restructuring of multiple bank financings, securitized debt, senior and

            junior mezzanine tranches and rake bonds. During a seven month period, obtained $93

            million recap JV Terms Sheet, negotiated $100 million of loan extensions,

arranged $17 million of property sales, multiple forbearance arrangements, etc.

  • Developing alternative strategic plans in conjunction with legal counsel including

            recapitalizations, DPOs, prepackaged Chapter 11 filings with Section 363 sales, etc.

 

Co-Chairman of the Unsecured Creditors Committee for the Chapter 11 Cases for

Allen Capital Partners, LLC and DLH Master Land Holding, LLC              2010

Served as one of three Co-Chairmen on two complex Chapter 11 cases filed in the U.S.

Bankruptcy Court, North District of Texas primarily involving commercial real estate including;

-          a 6,000 acre logistics park located in Southern Dallas County with claims in excess of $181 million

-          multiple office and industrial projects located in California with claims of $160 million

         

 

 

The Allen Group, San Diego, CA; Kansas City, KS; Dallas, TX                            2003 – 2008

 

President & COO – Real Estate Development and Management Company

·         Joined company at time of crisis when all senior management left to form competitor

·         Built management team, opened and operated offices in five markets

·         Implemented corporate strategy, focused on developing large-scale industrial parks centered around world class railroad intermodal facilities such as the Dallas Logistics Hub (”DLH”) , a 6,000 acre logistics park surrounding the new Union Pacific railroad intermodal facility in Dallas, Texas.

·         Responsibilities for the DLH project included:

-          Land acquisition negotiations, financings and closings of 165 separate parcels

-          Construction of a complex15-year computer model which projected all hard and soft infrastructure and building costs, expected land sales and leasing transactions, flexible debt and equity assumptions and investment return calculations

-          Supervision of  Divisional President, legal, engineering and admin staff

-          Oversight of the engineering and entitlement processes

-          Procurement of commitments for over $150 million for public infrastructure projects

-          Development of spec industrial buildings and plans for a second railroad intermodal hub for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad

-          Scripting an industry leading presentation on international distribution trends, intermodal development and its impact on industrial development in the United States which presentation was made at the request of the governors of Kansas and Texas to their transportation departments

·         Developed multiple additional industrial and office parks of 100 to 700 acres and constructed several hundred million dollars of office and industrial buildings

·         Won national development competitions for major build-to-suit projects e. g. VF Corp.’s first integrated distribution center encompassing 1.0 million sq ft of high tech computerized distribution facilities under one roof and a 250 acre automotive facility

·         Directly handled banking and legal relationships
